"Night Visitors" is a poignant portrayal of my personal experience with narcolepsy-induced hallucinations. The dark, murky void dominating the bottom two-thirds of the painting serves to emote the paralyzing fear that grips the me during these episodes, which are particularly traumatic as they often occur just before I fall asleep or as I wake up. As the viewer takes in the intricacies of the painting, they can visualize my deep-rooted dread, even as the shadow figures subtly peek around corners. Although not a victim of sleep paralysis, I become paralyzed with fear. The painting evokes a visceral emotion from viewers and offers an insight into my personal struggles with my condition.
