"Cardinal" is part of my thrifted art rescue project where I take artwork that has been thrifted and turn it into an original piece of art. There are several reasons I wanted to do this project. The first reason was to be more eco-friendly. So much decor art (the kind by at a hobby store that is mass-produced) is thrown out as trends change. If there is a small part I can play in making more sustainable choices, I want to do what I can. Another reason I want to do this is to offer originals at a price point that is more accessible to everyone. I know art is a luxury and can be difficult to collect with most of our budgets. This is a great way to get started in collecting art.

This is the first painting I created to kick off this project. My audience on social media suggested the subject matter for all the others in this collection.
